About the Job

We are looking for a client-focused, resourceful, and growth-oriented Business Development Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to support IT Geeks’ growth by generating leads, nurturing client relationships, and assisting in closing deals. The Business Development Specialist will work closely with the BDM and internal teams to ensure a smooth sales process, contribute to revenue growth, and help expand our presence in the Shopify and eCommerce space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate new business leads in the Shopify/E-commerce space, building a strong pipeline for the sales team.

  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings or demos with potential clients, ensuring alignment with IT Geeks’ offerings.

  • Support the BDM in preparing and delivering persuasive proposals, presentations, and pricing recommendations.

  • Assist in negotiations and follow up on deals to help move opportunities through the sales pipeline.

  • Take ownership of select opportunities by driving the closure of high-ticket projects and ensuring long-term client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and internal teams to ensure smooth handoff of projects.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline status using CRM tools.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to provide insights for refining sales strategies.

  • Build and nurture professional relationships with prospects and clients to encourage repeat business.

  • Mentor junior BDEs where applicable, sharing best practices and guidance on lead generation and client engagement.

  • Contribute to improving sales processes, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • Minimum 0 to 3 years of proven experience in business development or sales in tech/E-commerce, with exposure to software sales, solution-based selling, and international clients.

  • Strong knowledge of Shopify and Shopify Plus ecosystems, E-commerce platforms, and digital business models.

  • Proven ability to manage and convert inbound leads, alongside proactive outbound prospecting.

  • Demonstrated success in generating leads, supporting sales cycles, and contributing to revenue growth.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging with clients and internal teams.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with BDMs, Project Managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project handoff.

  • Proficiency with CRM tools for tracking leads and sales activities is preferred.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret market insights and improve lead generation strategies.

  • Candidates who can provide examples of past projects, key achievements, or other ways to demonstrate their expertise are preferred.

  • Ability to mentor junior BDEs and share best practices is a plus.
